Bar Staff Training

We initiated the Bar Outreach Project during 2009 in response to local concerns about the prevalence of drug-facilitated sexual assault (DFSA). The goal of the Bar Outreach Project is to foster safer spaces at local bars and to increase personal and community accountability around this issue. As part of this project and in conjunction with Sexual Assault Awareness month,we are hosting a bartender training on April 4th and April 18th from 4-5pm at the Lexington Avenue Brewing Company.

We hope you can join other local bartenders and owners to learn about drug-facilitated sexual assault and tips for keeping your establishment safer. For your convenience, the same training will be offered on the two separate dates noted above, and you may send as many bartenders and staff as you wish. Attendees will be presented with a certificate of completion that may be displayed in your establishment.

We sincerely appreciate your support of the Bar Outreach Project as we strive to provide the best services possible to meet the growing needs of Buncombe County. With your support, we can end sexual violence in our community and beyond. We will be in touch with you in the following weeks and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. If you are able to attend, please RSVP here or contact ohia, Outreach Coordinator, at ohia@ourvoicenc.org or by phone at 252-0562.
