DESCRIPTION:The Break the Silence Speaker Series is Our VOICE’s largest fundraising event of the year. The series highlights the voice of a national leader\, activist or survivor who has worked to improve systems in responding to and ending sexual assault or human trafficking in our communities. \n \n(English) \nFor the Break the Silence Speaker Series\, Our VOICE hosts brave trailblazers each year who share their stories about healing from sexual violence. This year\, our honorary speaker is Cyntoia Brown Long\, a survivor of human trafficking who is raising awareness about this growing public health problem and how prevention requires community education and individualized support. \nWe feel that this is such an important event that brings awareness to the dynamics of sexual violence and gives folks from all types of experiences the opportunity to come together to learn and feel supported. \nOur goal is to offer this event in a way where everyone feels welcome\, and any barriers to participation are lowered. To achieve this\, we are offering ASL and Spanish translation virtually\, as well as access to tickets at no cost.
