Volunteer at Our VOICE

Volunteer Program

Our VOICE could not do the work we do without volunteers. We rely on volunteers to serve clients, participate in outreach events, and provide administrative support. While our greatest need is for Crisis Line Volunteer Advocates, we have a variety of ways to get involved!

Which type of volunteer are YOU?

Advocates are on the front lines of supporting survivors. These volunteers serve on our 24-hour crisis line and offer support to survivors over the phone as well as accompany survivors to Mission Hospital for medical attention after a recent assault. Before volunteering, advocates must go through a 21-hour training and are asked to commit to a minimum of 4 months on the crisis line. For more information, click here.

Community Outreach Volunteers are often our link to the community. These volunteers attend various events around town to table, talk about Our VOICE, connect people to our services, and raise awareness about the movement to end sexual violence. Before volunteering, outreach volunteers must go through a 2-hour orientation and commit to volunteer at a minimum of 4 events a year.

The Board of Directors is the governing body working to meet the mission and vision of Our VOICE.

Collect Supplies for Survivors. We provide clothing, toiletries, and other materials to survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking. We are always in need of supplies. Give us a call to find out about our current needs or gather a few things off the following list:

  • clean gender-neutral sweatpants (all sizes)
  • backpacks
  • cell phone minutes
  • gift cards to local grocery stores, restaurants, and coffee shops
  • new underwear for all genders (all sizes)
  • travel size toiletries
  • pads/tampons
  • clean socks
  • condoms/lube
  • self-care items
